We had a great stay in the middle of an old town! The atmosphere was lovely, with a view of a little laneway. The man at check-in was very helpful despite the language barrier. The communal kitchen had a microwave, but I wished there was boiling water available. The dinner at the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. It was a good base for exploring the national park. I would recommend this hotel for its charming location and helpful staff.

We had a wonderful time staying at this mountain retreat. The atmosphere was charming, with the old town setting adding to the overall experience. Despite the language barrier during check-in, the staff were incredibly helpful and showed us everything we needed to know. The communal kitchen, though limited in facilities, was convenient and allowed us to prepare simple meals. The highlight of our stay was the dinner at the on-site restaurant, which offered delicious homemade dishes at a great price. It was also mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide, which added to our confidence in choosing this place. it served as a perfect base for our trekking adventures in the national park.
Our stay at Refugio Lucien Briet felt like visiting family - there was simply no reason to complain.

Comfortable enough stay, convenient location for exploring the nearby national park. the old mansion had character and the double room had everything we needed, including a clean and always-hot shower. We definitely plan on coming back.
The lack of power points in the dorm room was quite inconvenient, especially with so many people sharing the space. the noise from the stairs passing through the room was also a major annoyance.

The location of this hotel was absolutely wonderful, right in the center of town. It was the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area and taking in the beautiful scenery. the rooms were clean and comfortable, providing a nice place to relax after a long day of adventures. the staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to provide recommendations and assistance. the bar onsite offered delicious home-cooked food and a cozy atmosphere, giving the hotel a homely feel.
The language barrier could be a bit challenging as the staff did not speak much English. It was necessary to have some knowledge of Spanish or French, or be prepared to rely on gestures and Google Translate.

The rooms at Refugio Lucien Briet are cozy and comfortable, with a homely atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I loved the shared kitchen, where we could prepare our favorite meals together as a family. The private bathrooms in every room were a bonus, ensuring convenience and privacy.
The shared bathrooms might not be everyone's cup of tea, but we personally didn't mind it.

The Refugio exceeded all expectations with its stunning old mansion and cozy double room. The always-hot shower was a bonus. The atmosphere in the old town was charming, and though the language barrier was present, the helpful staff made up for it. The communal kitchen was convenient, and the homemade dinner at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The property was well-maintained, and the English-speaking staff was more helpful than the park personnel. A great base for hiking in the national park.
